Origin: Ronaldo was born in Santo António, a neighbourhood of Funchal, Madeira, the youngest child of Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, a cook, and José Dinis Aveiro, a municipal gardener. The family was staunchly Catholic. Ronaldo has one older brother and two older sisters: brother: Hugo (b. 1975). Sisters: Elma (b. 1974), Sister: Liliana Cátia (“Ronalda”, singer, b. 1976). Ronaldo’s father died of an alcoholism-related liver condition at the age of 52 when Ronaldo was 20.
